A good and cheap gaming computer is the dream of many gamers. However, the combination of good and cheap can often be very difficult. To begin with, you need to be aware that the speed of the computer depends on the amount spent on its purchase or its modernization. So what should the parameters of a good gaming computer look like? I invite you to read.

To begin the process of buying or upgrading a computer, it’s a good idea to start with what goes into a computer and what translates most into speed:
The processor is the main unit, responsible for performing calculations. It is directly related to the speed of the hardware, and the factor that controls its speed is the base clocking – the higher, the faster the computer will be. Other factors that affect the work of the processor are the number of cores and threads, that is, the possible number of operations performed at the same time – the more, the better.
The motherboard is the component that joins all the others. It has a slightly smaller impact on the speed of the computer, provided that you buy a motherboard compatible with the purchased processor.
The graphics card is the unit responsible for computing elements related to graphics and its display. It has a direct and large impact on the speed of the computer, especially in games or programs that use their capabilities. One of the most important elements of a graphics card is the speed of the graphics processor (the more, the better), the amount of graphics card cache memory (hereinafter VRAM) and the width of the bus (the more, the better).
RAM is temporary memory that retains the most important temporary files needed by the processor to perform calculations. Its amount affects the performance of your computer and the running of games – the more, the better.
A hard drive is the space where system files, games, documents and more are stored. Investing a drive in an SSD, especially an M.2, is a good idea because the response time and file access times are faster and the read and write speeds are much faster than HDDs – this has a direct impact on how fast your computer runs and how fast your games boot up.
A power supply unit provides your computer with the power it needs. Its wattage should be adjusted to the hardware you are buying, determining their peak power consumption. Otherwise, the computer may not start up or may shut down during more intensive tasks. When you buy the right power supply – it does not affect the speed of your computer.
There are no specific numbers as to what the parameters of a good computer should look like. However, you can – based on your own experience and recent game releases – provide recommended parameters for a good gaming computer:
And here are the minimum parameters to consider when buying a computer in 2022:
The values above are the minimum you should have in order to be able to run computer games from recent years. Lower values mean a decrease in performance and even the inability to run most computer games.
A good and cheap computer is a relative term. However, for each price range, it’s a good idea to find the components that are the most efficient in your price range. I hope this article has lightened up a bit on the topic of upgrading it, upgrading it, or helped with putting together a gaming PC.
