The Spirit box is a small, portable device with an orange display and antenna at the top. It is included in the basic equipment, so there is no need to purchase it because it appears with every order on the shelves in the truck. However, it can be purchased from the store for $50 and added as a second device to an order. The Spirit Box in Phasmophobia is used to communicate with select types of ghosts. A ghost’s response through the device means finding one of three pieces of evidence.

To start a conversation with the ghost, find the room where the phantom is located and turn off the lights. Next, check to see if the ghost responds to everyone or only in solitude. If only in solitude, you must ensure that the player remains alone in the room while using the Spirit Box in Phasmophobia. Tips for the Spirit Box – Phasmophobia

In order to talk to a ghost in Phasmophobia through the Spirit Box, several conditions must be met. First of all, the player must be in the same room as the ghost or a maximum of 3 meters away from it. The lights in the room where the Spirit box is used must be turned off. The light emitted by electronic equipment does not affect this, but the main light source must be turned off. Lights in adjacent rooms or hallways may be on, and doors to them may be open.

On the Spirit Box’s display, it is a good idea to check if the device is ready and will be able to answer the question asked by the player. A working microphone is indicated by the icon in the upper left corner of the display. If “Press and speak” is selected in the settings, you need to press the V key on the keyboard when asking a question.

If an X appears on the Spirit Box display after asking a question – it means that one or more conditions have not been met to use the device. A very common reason is a wrongly asked Spirit question. Another reason for the X icon appearing on the display is that there is no Spirit Box evidence for the spirit type during the current assignment.
